Despite drug addiction and numerous run-ins with the law, rapper DMX says he has no regrets about any of his actions.
The embattled emcee sat down with Dr. Phil on Wednesday and opened up about a number of subjects, including his struggle with addiction. DMX recalled that his addiction began when he was 14-years-old and smoked a marijuana cigarette that was laced with cocaine. Apparently, he had no idea it was laced until after smoking it.
After years of addiction, DMX claims he has been clean from harder drugs for "more than a year," but admits that he occasionally still smokes marijuana and drinks. DMX says he's "taking steps" to get better and that one day those substances will also fade out of his life.
The rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, also talked about being a father to eleven children, with a twelfth on the way. Even though he owes 1.23 million in child support, he claims each of his kids are well taken care of.
DMX explains that he hasn't been able to keep up with some of the child support payments because he's not making as much money as he was when he was first ordered to pay child support.
